WHEN NATURE TAKES BACK
When Nature Takes Back examines the idea of what happens in the absence of humans and their taming forces. As humankind pushes deeper into the natural world, the untouched, untamed wilderness only exists where they allow it.
The series includes images of overgrown vegetation, uncontrollable adversities, and natural occurrences. Some of these sceneries implicate humans, not only as an intruder to nature but as the invasive species; Yet true to the artist’s style and sensibilities, she paints these haunting and poignant scenes with bold color—sometimes even in a fauvist manner as if contradicting the gravity of the issue by highlighting the beauty in the painting and of nature, no matter the adversities.
